Presentation
Study of the Spanish Language at B2 level through the development of oral and written skills, with theoretical-practical sessions and student participation.

I. Objectives:
· understand the main ideas of complex texts on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in his/her field of specialisation (Languages, Literatures and Cultures);
produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects.
II. Competences:
A. Oral production: can give clear, detailed descriptions and presentations.
B. Written production: can write clear, detailed texts on a variety of subjects.
C. Listening comprehension: can understand standard spoken language.
D. Reading comprehension: can read with a large degree of independence.
E. Spoken interaction: can use the language fluently, accurately and effectively.
F. Vocabulary: has a good range of vocabulary for matters.
G. Grammar: good grammatical control; occasional "slips" or non-systematic errors and minor flaws.

- Using the Indicativo, Subjuntivo and Condicional.
- Organizing an oral and writing speech.
- Adding a point of view.
- Ensuring. Making rhetorical questions.

- Giving and asking for advices.
- Giving examples.
- Leading up a subject or an opinion.
- Organizing speech parts.

- Practical general revision of the gramar contents learnt in Língua Espanhola I, Língua
Espanhola II and Língua Espanhola III.
- Accentuation.
- Influence verbs construction with Subjuntivo.
- Prepositions.
- The Pretérito Imperfecto and Pluscuamperfecto de Subjuntivo: ways, uses and
irregularities.
- Contrast between Indicativo and Subjuntivo
- Several colloquial expressions.
- Organizing an oral and writing speech.

Teaching Methods
(1) direct exposure to authentic use of language (through videos, written texts - newspapers, magazines, etc. - Internet, CD-ROM, among others);
(2) direct participation in communicative interaction;
(3) presentations, explanations, exercises/exploitation activities;
(4) translation (native language/foreign language/native language)
(5) individual, pair and group working;
(6) contribution to formal and informal discussions;
(7) guided study;
(8) autodidactically, by self-study.
Students may choose between two modes of assessment: (1) continuous or (2) exam.
(1) Continuous assessment: a. Written quiz (35%); b. Oral quiz (25%); c. Assignments, throughout the
semester, in and at home (40%);
(2) Exam: a. Written exam (60%); b. Oral exam (40%).
