Objectives:
- Understand the concepts and fundamental principles relating to the establishment and analysis of
projects, focusing particularly on the field of operating plans associated with the investment options of
farming enterprises.
- Understand the need and the opportunity to apply materials and principles of economic and technical
nature, so as to realize the advantages of collaboration with technicians from other branches of
knowledge.
Skills:
Learn to identify and consider problems and propose solutions in the fields of development and analysis of
operating plans/investment projects for farming enterprises.

Contents

1. Concept and models of projects - general scope and specific scope of the agricultural sector.
2. Costs and benefits of projects in the private and social context.
3. Agricultural projects in the framework of the entrepreneurship and agribusiness – enhancers and main
factors conditioning.
4. The financial analysis of agricultural business projects
5. Sensitivity analysis in a agricultural business projects
6. Design and drafting projects for farm business by the budgeting method.
7. Problems of economic and technical nature associated with the planning of farming enterprises.
8. Feasibility study of projects for agricultural enterprises.

Teaching Methods

The lecture aims to explanatory concepts and principles, encouraging research and interpretation of
information. The practical classes are intended to carry out case studies and problem solving concerning
subjects taught. The project work, carried out by groups of two students, will be accompanied by the
teachers.
Care must be taken that students have active participation, promoting the analysis and discussion of
topics.

A) Written test: 60% of the final
B) Project work: 40% of the final
