Goals:
• Acquire knowledge concerning the Integration and Control Systems, Adjustment and Maintenance Systems and, Reproduction and Development of the Human Organism Systems.
• Develop knowledge about the Constitution and functioning of the human body.

Competencies:
• Understand the process of integration and monitoring, adjustment and maintenance and development of the human organism
• Identifies the major structural and functional characteristics of the organs that make up the human body systems
• Explains the functioning of the various organs of the human body in an integrated manner.
• Explains the morphological and functional bases of human anatomy (neurological Anatomy and estesiológica (central and peripheral nervous System, and sensory organ)
• Explains the morphological and functional bases of human anatomy of Esplancnology, and the Endocrinology.

Contents

Module I – Integration and Control Systems

- Central nervous system: brain and spinal cord
- Peripheral nervous system: cranial nerves and spinal
- The senses
- Endocrine system

Module II – Adjustment and Maintenance Systems

- Digestive system:
• Anatomy and digestive functions
• Histology of the digestive tract

- Urinary system
• Anatomy and histology of the kidney
• Urinary tract Functions

Module III – Reproduction and development

- Female and male reproductive and sexual
• Anatomy and physiology of the reproductive and sexual systems

- Development, growth, and aging
• Prenatal development
• Stages of the cycle of life (birth, adolescence, aging and death)

Teaching Methods

The methodologies should be interactive and conducive to active participation and bailout provisions of students. Uses:
- The exhibition in the classroom, using the Power Point and the Prezi programs.
- Tutorial orientation, can be in person/face-to-face and/or by videoconference (Skipe, Mensager, Colibri).
- The resources used are: the interactive whiteboard, the anatomical models and the moodle. This last is often used for presentation of the teaching content and the accomplishment of formative tests.
- The E-learning methodology will be used for diffusion of information content and as a complement of the theoretical lessons and practical-theoretical classroom sessions.
As stated in the internal school regulation of University of Évora, students can opt for the continuous assessment scheme or by the exam. The continuous evaluation predict a writen 2 tests in the classroom by Moodle. Students who do not obtain 10 or more values in the final grade are subject to exam.
