In this Course Unit students of Education should have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge about the world educational diversity, starting themselves in comparative studies.

2. Clarify the basic concepts of the discipline.
3. Knowing the history of the discipline and the milestones and key players in its evolution.
4. Identify the main and general and specific methodological and epistemological problems of "comparison" in the field of education.
5. Deepen knowledge about current education major problems worldwide, particularly those related to international programs of quantitative and qualitative assessment of education.
6. Initiation to the study of Prospective of Education applied both to national education systems and the global analysis of world education.
7. Deepen the understanding of "education system" of a particular country.

Teaching Methods

Teaching methods:
a) Theoretical and Practical classes - In an initial moment there is an exposition by the teacher framing and synthetizing the main problems and ideas about each point. In a second moment of "practical" nature there is an analysis and interpretation of texts / documents, and an exercise and application of research centered on national education systems.
Methods of assessment:
a) 2 written partial exercices or a final Exam.
b) An individual practical work - exercises/analysis on the educational system of one country.
