This course is about supply chain management and operations management, and addresses the effective and efficient management of flows in the supply chains.

Taking as its starting point the effective and efficient management of flows in supply chains, the need to
reduce costs, deregulation and reduction of commodity prices and increased productivity of market factors
and competition, this CU’s main aim is to deepen knowledge on supply chain issues, focusing on the
identification of research problems, approaches to research design and the application of appropriate
methods of analysis.
Thus, the following skills will be promoted:
Knowledge of the relevant issues in logistics and operations management and competence in applying the
available tools of analysis, diagnostics and research;
Development of critical skills of analysis and synthesis;
Design and implementation of research plans to address problems of logistics and operations
management in the sector under consideration;
Development of capabilities to carry out independent research in the area of logistics and operations
management.

Teaching Methods

There are 20 hours of theoretical classes, seminars, guest presentations and tutorials. Students also
benefit from additional support during of office hours from CU teachers, or remotely via the Moodle
computer platform.
The assessment comprises an individual assignment and an exam.
