		     Through intensive seminars, critical and methodological analysis skills are developed from the individual student research processes.

Learning Goals
		  		      The curricular unit is organized in intensive seminars master students centered and aims to develop critical thinking skills and to enhance advanced competences in the field of reflective, analytical and methodological components and steps in relation with each individual research processes, applied project or internship of the master students.
In specific terms, the competences to be acquired are:
- Evaluate the applicability of sociological theories and methods for advanced master project development (research, applied project or internship);
- Analyze critically, strategies about the development of an individual project leading to master dissertation, applied project or internship;
- Consolidate original ideas for advanced research in a master in sociology, applied project or internship as on-the-job training in sociology.

Contents
		  		      There is no rigid curriculum content. The seminars sessions are focused on framing and evaluation of master student autonomous work, in particular at the level of presentation (oral and written) and public discussion of materials related with their individual research project, applied project or internship development. So the seminars sessions are mainly focus on the following topics:
1: Advanced Research in Sociology;
2: Elaboration of a sociological research project, applied project or internship;
3: Initial development activities of a master project dissertation, applied project or internship in sociology.

Teaching Methods
		  		      Curricular unit to be taught by intensive seminars sessions, classroom-based, and may eventually be applied distance sessions through e-learning platform from the university of Évora.
Evaluation:
1 - Preparation, submission and presentation of a portfolio of development of the proposed project dissertation, or project stage (50% of final grade).;
. 2 - Presentation of at least a text of critical reflection, a progress report or a related scientific article with the proposed dissertation, or project stage (50% of final grade);
3 -. Participation in seminar sessions (weighting fator between -1 to + 1 value in a 0-20 scale).
