This course is about supply chain management and operations management, and addresses the effective and efficient management of flows in the supply chains.

Taking as its starting point the effective and efficient management of flows in supply chains, the need to reduce costs, deregulation and reduction commodity prices and increased productivity of factors and competition in the markets, this course's main objective is to deepen scientific knowledge on the issues of supply chain, focusing on the identification of research problems, the design approaches and application of methods of analysis.
Thus, it is intended to promote the following skills:
Knowing the relevant issues in logistics and operations management and dominate the tools of research, diagnostic and analysis that can be used;
Develop critical skills of analysis and synthesis;
Design and implement research plans to address problems of logistics and operations management;
Develop capabilities to carry out independent scientific research in the area of logistics and operations management.

Module 2 – Flows management in logistics chains
• Aggregated planning and transports management
• Inventory management and demand forecast
• Information management in logistics chains
• Marketing and e-commerce in logistics chains management
Module 3 – Planning logistics chains
• The design of new logistics chains
• Schedule of logistics projects and networks
• Schedule of logistics services

Teaching Methods

They are foreseen 22 hours of theoretical lessons, seminars, conferences or tutorials. The students can also have some additional support during of office hours for teachers, or remotely via Moodle computer platform. The assessment comprises an individual scientific work and an exam.
