Course Overview
This course aims on training professionals with an appropriate scientific and technical profile, able to answer to the growing demand for olive orchards plantation and olive oil production, within a sector characterized by strong growth, dynamism and introduction of high technology. The program of this course has been designed to consolidate knowledge on sustainable systems for olive oil production, cultural techniques, genetic resources and improvement, phytosanitary protection, transformation technology, olive oil quality and commercialization and marketing. Teaching/learning methodologies focus on promoting the development of autonomous work, stimulating the oral and written communication skills of the students. The contact with I&D activities, especially those developed in the Mediterranean Institute of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (MED-UE), enhance the research capacities of the students. The integration of the University of Évora (UE) in the main olive growing region of the country and the partnerships developed with the main companies in the sector, create the appropriate conditions for quality training, focused on the reality of the sector, benefiting from the most innovative scientific and technological bases.

Specific Entry Requirements
Degree or equivalent in Agronomy, Animal Science, Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry and Food Technology.
Candidates with other types of training may be admitted if their CV is recognized by the Scientific Council as attesting their ability to undertake the Course.
