Course Overview

The PhD Program in Human Movement at the University of Évora aims to promote the development of skills for research in the scientific field of Human Movement (HM). This study cycle has the general objective of providing a specialized response in the fundamental fields of human movement, in terms of research in the areas of physical activity/exercise and health, sports performance, psychomotricity, sports management, and technology in sport and health. It also aims to strengthen the relationship with the business sector and the surrounding community, allowing the transfer of knowledge to the socio-economic fabric, placing the application of science and technology at the service of economic development and the well-being of populations. In terms of specific objectives, it is intended that students develop skills, abilities, and methods for autonomous research in HM: be able to carry out original research work that contributes to the expansion of knowledge and that deserves national or international dissemination in publications with a selection committee; develop communication skills in the field of HM with their peers, the rest of the academic and scientific community, and society in general; to enter the job market with advanced knowledge and skills in the field of Human Resources; to promote, in an academic and/or professional context, technological, social or cultural progress in a knowledge-based society.
