Development of skills for organizing work plans by defining tasks and scheduling them to achieve the intended results. Literature research practice, writing and communication of results in science and technology.

Objectives
This CU aims to help students acquire the required autonomy to develop, with the help of their supervisor(s), the work plan associated with their MSc dissertation and the ability to develop individually the state of the art regarding the selected technical-scientific domain.
Skills
1) Acquire skills for professional intervention in the area of aquaculture;
2) To supervise the accomplishment of the tasks presented in the approved timeline;
3) To be able to analyze possible changes to the structure of the working plan;
4) To develop communication strategies of the results in a written and oral form, through the elaboration of a summary of the work to be developed in the future dissertation;
5) To make a public presentations of the developed work;
6) To promote critical thinking with working.

Contents
The syllabus will be adjusted to each theme selected by the students to develop their MSc dissertation. In this way, the CU program includes:
1) Organization of the structure and elaboration of a technical-scientific working plan;
2) Outline the tasks to be carried out;
3) Definition of self-monitoring methods for fulfilling the task schedule;
4) How to search and select the contents that should be included in the state of art;
5) How to highlight a scientific work, and what is the best way to frame it in the technical-scientific knowledge that currently exists on the subject;
6) Definition of criteria to elaborate a good summary of the state of art;
7) Organization of the dissertation structure;
8) Organization of the bibliography and rules for citation of used literature;
9) Techniques of oral presentation of scientific topics.

Teaching Methods
The supervision of the student regarding the elaboration of his individual working plan and organized in seminars for public dissemination of the selected theme. In these presentations, the discussion and analysis of improvement proposals by the audience present at the session will be valued.
Assessment
The assessment consists of 3 components: (i) a summary of the working plan and its timetable, (ii) an oral presentation, and (iii) theevaluation made by the supervisor(s) of the student capacities during the execution of the working plan. The presentation will be carried out to 2 professors of the CU and a 3rd member, specialist in the theme of the MSc thesis. The assessment of the oral presentation corresponds to 40% of the final grade and is based on the clarity of the presentation, the depth of knowledge, and the scientific quality. The remaining 60% correspond to the classification assigned to the work planning/synthesis report (40%), and to the classification given by the supervisor(s) (20%).
