Teaching Methods
According to the pedagogical model, the aim is to teach centered on student learning, which is unified in the development of skills. The unit is organized into theoretical classes and tutorials. Theoretical are plenary and based on the scientific method, valuing information research, the interpretation of experimental results and a critical attitude with scientific rigor. There is the application of transversal skills to other UCs, associated with the relationship with the community, particularly when applying assessment instruments and protocols. Still in conjunction with the pedagogical model, there is a rapprochement between teaching and research, in which they are given the opportunity to learn about the research that is carried out in this scientific domain. In this context, projects that take place within the scope of the UC contents are also introduced, with some students being given the opportunity to participate European project: https://www.healthyw8.eu).
Assessment
According to UÉvora's pedagogical model, self-regulatory assessment practices for students' learning aim to ensure that assessment is placed at the service of learning, and should address both the assessment of knowledge acquisition and the development of skills. In this sense, the evaluation of this UC includes carrying out a work (scoring 100% of the final classification), in which students must relate the training of one of the motor skills covered in classes, with a health benefit or any condition. special or pathological. The assessment by exam will be the same.
Students are also given the opportunity to carry out the final work with content different from that proposed. In this case, they must first ask the teacher for a prior opinion on the subject, which will be accepted if it relates content covered in the UC with exercise and health.
