Learning Goals

Provide students with knowledge and experience that allow them to design and project, and supervise photographic productions. Empower students to interpret a briefing and Identify the technical and aesthetic needs of a photographic production. Empower students to be able to perform the art direction function in image production. And acquire knowledge of image editing. Acquire a working method and be able to prepare a production briefing / direct a photo session or make and edit a video / communicate the intentions with the photographer properly. Provide technical knowledge about new media and image publishing on digital platforms.

Teaching Methods

The classes will be based on the sharing and discussion of theoretical and practical knowledge promoting the development of exercises. Promotion of debates on themes transversal to the learning process and presentation of case studies using audiovisual and physical supports.

Assessment

Research and the use of project-based methodologies will be promoted. Classes will be conducted in a lecture format, encouraging debate and the sharing of information. Assessment is continuous, with intermediate evaluation moments and, at the end of the semester, a final assessment conducted in a jury format.
ASSESSMENT
In the Regular Assessment Period, students may choose one of two assessment regimes: Continuous Assessment or Final Assessment.
1. Continuous Assessment Regime
Assessment components:
Class participation ? 20%;
Work developed during the semester under the supervision of the lecturer, which must be submitted to at least one periodic assessment moment with public disclosure of grades ? 40%;
Presentation and defense of the work developed during classes, to be held during the Regular Assessment Period ? 40%.
2. Final Assessment Regime
Work developed during the semester under the supervision of the lecturer ? 40%;
Written examination based on the course contents ? 60%.
