Course Overview

The main aim of this training course is to provide an up-to-date overview of progress in therapeutic options in the healing and treatment of complex wounds over the years, using innovative approaches.
As well as including content such as skin function and anatomy, wounds and conventional treatment modalities for skin healing and regeneration, it will look at the various emerging and innovative strategies to promote wound healing such as photobiomodelling, cell therapy, extracellular matrix-based approaches, platelet-rich plasma-based approaches and cold plasma treatment therapy, discussing their benefits and barriers.
This course aims to contribute to the development of technical and scientific competences of health professionals (nurses and doctors) using experts in the field, who will bring innovative recommendations and therapeutic approaches to the treatment of difficult-to-heal wounds, using new technologies and based on the latest scientific evidence. The teaching methodology used in this course includes the use of advanced technological resources, namely digital environments and technological platforms applied to training and simulation.
