Course Overview

Currently, in Portugal, some maternity wards and obstetric emergency units have been closing on a rotating basis, with the aim of addressing the shortage of human resources and ensuring safety during childbirth. In this context, there have been reported cases of births occurring before arrival at the hospital. Pre-hospital intervention in childbirth is a crucial component of care for women in situations of imminent delivery or obstetric emergencies.
