Course Overview

The degree in Biology at the University of Évora (UÉ) has an innovative structure, organized according to national and international educational guidelines, which facilitates and encourages student mobility within the European Network of Universities. This degree is consolidated in the UÉ with a highly qualified faculty which develops research in Biological Sciences, within the scope of national research centres, national or international collaboration networks, and R&D projects with national or international funding.
The course offers a solid generalist training that integrates all levels of biological organization, and its flexible design allows training options in different areas of Biological Sciences, including environment and natural resources, ecosystem management, human biology, health, and entrepreneurship. The basic theoretical training is complemented by relevant experimental training, enhanced by the geographic and landscape setting of Mitra homestead and the Sines Marine Biology Laboratory, allowing our graduates the possibility of continuing their studies in different areas of Biological Sciences or directly entering the labour market.
