Contents
1. Basic Principles and Techniques of Skiing and Snowboarding:
a. Technical fundamentals: stance, turns, stops, and descent techniques.
b. Equipment: types, maintenance, and adjustments.
2. Safety and First Aid in Mountain Environments:
a. Mountain risk assessment.
b. Safety measures to prevent accidents.
c. Basic first aid and snow rescue techniques.
3. Hands-on Experiences in Snow Environments:
a. Selection and analysis of routes for Ski and Snowboard practices.
b. Assessment of weather conditions and safety impacts.
4. Communication and Coordination in Group Activities:
a. Leadership strategies and teamwork in snow activities.
b. Simulations of group scenarios in variable snow conditions.

Teaching Methods
This course will take place in a concentrated way, in a week, in which students will be placed in an immersive experience in a context of practice of snow activities. During this period they will have the opportunity to try the techniques of Sky and Snowboard, as well as actively participate in the organization of the sessions, considering all the topics that involve the contents of the UC Safety, Equipment, Organization of Groups. At the end of each day, a group session of analysis and reflection will be held on the functioning of each day, in the different dimensions.
Assessment
The assessment will be divided into two components Assessment of the practical component and assessment of the ability to organise snow activities:
Practical Performance Evaluation:
Evaluation of students' technical skills in Ski and Snowboard, considering the correct execution of techniques and the ability to adapt to different snow conditions.
Organizational Capacity Assessment:
Organized as a group, students will be tasked with organizing a day's worth of activities, including planning, resource management, and group leadership.
