Learning Goals
The courses goal is to give a context to the actors field in the contemporary scene. Students will be given tools which will help them intervene in a changing professional field in order to open up their horizons in the domains of theatre and video work at both national and international levels.
Contents
The professional acting and production fields at a national and international levels: financial aid and loans, Festivals, theatre companies, and other employers. The professional video scene: producers, agents, casting practices in film and television. Testimonies about the acting career and profession. How to prepare a resumé. How to prepare a project portfolio (preferably the final project that they will be creating). General notions of funding: workshops and residences, research and creative projects, domestic and international.

Theoretical introduction through specialized bibliography on the artistic panorama in Portugal
Theater companies and other professional structures;Direct contacts, visits and meetings with those responsible for theatrical production structures at local and national level;A panoramic view on audiovisual production structures (producers and casting agencies). Meetings and conversations with professionals of the sector; An overview of career options at the international level. European cultural programs and outside Europe; Presentation of research projects at national and international level
