Animal production and its optimization should be complemented with environmental damages minimization and without losses in the food chain. The MSc course in Zootechnical Engineering is approved by the Ministry of Science, technology and Higher Education, fulfills the admission requirements to the Engineers Profissonal Organisation and aims the scientific and/or professional knowledge developing and updating, with the skills acquisition in the design and execution of projects in the areas of animal production, product transformation and quality, integrating the economy of production processes, the environmental quality, animal welfare and public health.
The students enrolled in this Master program can get a double degree, obtaining the degree of Mestre em Engenharia Zootécnica of the University of Évora and the degree of "Laurea Magistrale in Scienze Delle Produzioni Zootecniche" at Sassary University - Italy. In order to do so, they will have to carry out the 1st and 4th curricular semesters at the University of Évora (including the discussion of the dissertation) and the 2nd and 3rd semester in the Sassary University. Tuition fees are only due at the University of Évora, however the fees for the degree diploma are due in both universities. Students who want to get the double degree must submit a request to do so, via Gesdoc, until November 30 of the year of admission, while simultaneously applying for the Erasmus + Scholarship, in accordance with the procedures and conditions set forth in the respective program.

Specific Entry Requirements
Based on the University of Évora directives, holders of a bachelors degree (or legal equivalent) of courses in Agricultural, Veterinary or Biological Sciences, or related areas can apply for a Master's Degree in Zootechnical Engineering (2nd Cycle). Can all so apply, holders of foreign higher academic degree (1st Cycle) courses in the areas of Agricultural, Veterinary or Biological Sciences, or related areas, organized according to the guiding principles of the 'Bologna Process'.
