This curricular unit intends to contribute to personal and scientific training, in general, and contact with mathematical contents in the scope of Differential Geometry, Complex Analysis, Fourier Analysis, and Differential Equations, both in the theoretical and in the applications.

This unit is important in the personal and scientific training in general and mathematics education in particular. Therefore, students should:
- Develop skills of abstraction, logical deduction and analysis.
- Acquire structuring methods and techniques of mathematical and scientific reasoning that provides a critical spirit.
- Know math concepts related to complex analysis, to Ordinary Differential Equations, Fourier Series and Differential Geometry in space and applications.
- Use mathematical skills in problem solving and real phenomena interpretation.
- Acquire mathematical skills which could be developed and implemented in a professional context, business, research or teaching.

Teaching Methods
Students have at their disposal in moodle all material used in classes, which are composed of an initial presentation and discussion of the topics to be studied, followed by illustrative and practical applications.
Evaluation methods:
"The assessment can be done by two alternative processes::
1) Continuous assessment: 2 tests, with the possibility of consulting material produced by the student. In order to pass, the average of the two tests must be greater than or equal to 10 values and each one of them cannot have a classification lower than 8 values.
2) by final exam to be held at the appropriate time."
