Summary
The EPIPAGRI initiative is a project aiming to encourage public sector research organizations to collaborate in the management and promotion of their intellectual property assets in the field of agricultural science - green chemistry, plant, animal, microbiologic, environmental and agro-food technologies. EPIPAGRI helps the public research community to transfer its innovations more successfully both to industry and for public-good purposes so as to contribute to the enhancement of public welfare on the global scale. EPIPAGRI’s activities:§ Development of an IP information exchange system designed to help technology transfer experts in collecting, extracting, and analysing public sector IP in agricultural science§ Partnering opportunities on specific technology transfer projects bringing together complementary IP/ technology items.§ Dissemination of the project results to national and European stakeholders.
Goals, activities and expected/achieved results
To reduce the fragmentation of European public IP portfolios in the agricultural biotechnologies sector.To accelerate the commercial uptake of the technology from public research in agricultural science.To stimulate highly innovative projects involving IP and technology To prove the benefit and feasibility to adopt collaborative strategies for sharing IP management information.
