Contents
1. Phonetics and Prosody (Latin alphabet and restored Latin pronunciation; Latin accentuation; syllabic and vocalic duration; phonetic phenomena).
2. Morphology (Notions of root/radical, theme, linking vowel, characteristic, verbal and nominal desinences).
2.2. Inflection of nouns:
2.2.1. Nouns with vowel stem.
2.2.2. Nouns with consonant stem.
2.3. Inflection of the verb:
2.3.1. Active tenses of the indicative mode and active present subjunctive of the four conjugations and verb -sum.
2.3.2. Nominal forms of the verbs.
2.4.1. First and second declension adjective.
2.5. Inflection of pronouns.
2.6. Prepositions and their cases.
2.7. Circumstantial adverbs and interrogative adverbs

3.1. Fundamental of grammatical analysis (cases and functions)

The use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) systems is allowed on the premise of exercising the ability to build knowledge in a critical and autonomous manner. This principle applies to all parties involved in the teaching-learning process, both students and instructor.
The use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) systems is strictly prohibited during assessment (exam, final exam, oral exam).
If a written assignment or oral presentation to be developed by the student in independent work is designated as an assessment instrument, the use of these tools can never replace linguistic competence for tasks such as translation or text analysis. Other uses must be properly referenced. with the name of the tool (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) and its respective version. The absence of such reference, as well as the presentation of results produced by GenAI as one's own work, may constitute improper appropriation of content generated by the tool and, therefore, such an act may constitute academic fraud and plagiarism.
For any assessment element, the possibility of authenticity verification is valid in accordance with the terms set forth in Dispatch 216/2026.

Assessment
Continuous assessment will comprise at least two assessment components. One of these must be a written exam (?frequência?), with a weighting of 40% and for which the grade cannot be lower than 8 points.
The other component will consist of other instruments, to be defined at the beginning of the semester, which may be:
a) a second written exam (?frequência?), with a weighting of 60%;
or
b) other element(s) defined by the teaching staff, tailored to the course syllabi and teaching methodologies, with a weighting of 60%;
or
c) a combination of the two instruments mentioned in items a) and b), with a weighting of 30% + 30%.
The exam framework (covering the regular, resit, special, and extraordinary examination periods) consists of a single written exam, which will be weighted at 100%. Students who obtain a grade between 8.0 and 9.4 points on the written exam will be required to take an oral exam.
If deemed necessary to verify the extent to which the student has developed the knowledge and skills expected for the curricular unit, the teaching staff may summon the student for an oral exam, in accordance with paragraph 13 of Article 110 of the Academic Regulations of the University of Évora, ensuring the conditions provided for in paragraph 4 of Article 116 and paragraph 1 of Article 118 of the same Regulations; this oral exam will have a weighting of 80% in the unit's final grade.
