Teaching Methods
Pedagogical methodologies privilege the active participation of students in the co-construction of knowledge, through diverse strategies, such as debate, analysis of reported or experienced situations, reflection and reasoned criticism, in moments of individual work and collaborative work. Different resources (documents, videos, technological applications and direct observation) are mobilized to support learning situations - based on research, projects, problems. Study visits are carried out to different contexts (libraries, baby libraries, bookstores, museums) that contribute to the diversification of learning experiences and a greater enrichment of training. The teaching and learning process is mediated by assessment with regulatory functions, facilitating autonomy and self-regulation of learning.
Moodle is used as a platform for sharing bibliographic references and other documents with students, as well as a means of communication and support for carrying out certain pedagogical activities.

Assessment
The assessment follows the University of Évora's assessment regime, which provides for two modalities.
Continuous assessment regime
Attendance and effective participation of students in work weight 15%
Assignment 1 ? The aim of Assignment 1 is for students, working in groups, to select, read, analyse, and give an oral presentation to the on a topic related to the course content, chosen in consultation with the lecturer, thereby encouraging reflection and discussion. Weight: 60%
Assignment 2 ? The aim of Assignment 2 is for students, working in groups, to read and analyse, in writing, policy/programmatic documents related to the course content. Weight: 25%
Final assessment regime
In this regime, the student will take a written test 100%
In accordance with Order No. 216/2026, on the Prevention of Academic Fraud and the Updating of Course Unit Descriptions (FUC) for the 2026/2027 academic year, it is established, as stated in the Order, that: ?If deemed necessary to verify the extent to which the student has developed the knowledge and competences envisaged for the course unit, the teaching team may require the student to take an oral examination, pursuant to paragraph 13 of Article 110 of the Academic Regulations of the University of Évora, with the conditions set out in paragraph 4 of Article 116 and paragraph 1 of Article 118 of the same Regulations being ensured. The oral examination shall account for 60% of the final grade for the course unit.?
