Teaching Methods

The course unit adopts active learning methodologies, combining theoretical content with case analysis and discussion, guided research, and the application of knowledge to territories, cultural resources and heritage. The use of generative Artificial Intelligence tools is permitted in activities specifically defined by the teaching team, particularly for exploration and idea generation, research support, information organisation and preparation of assignments. Their use must be critical, transparent and verifiable and must not replace the student's own analysis and interpretation or the consultation and validation of information through scientific, documentary, heritage and institutional sources. Whenever AI is used, students must identify the tool/model employed and document the relevant prompts and outputs, in accordance with the guidelines of the course unit and the University of Évora Framework for the Use of AI.

Assessment

Continuous assessment: assessment consists of a written test, weighted at 50%, and a practical assignment, weighted at 50% of the final grade for the course unit.
Examination assessment: in the regular, special and extraordinary examination periods, assessment consists of an examination weighted at 100% of the final grade for the course unit.
In assessed activities, the use of Artificial Intelligence tools is permitted only under the conditions and for the purposes defined by the teaching team. Whenever AI is used, its use must be transparently declared, identifying the tool/model and the tasks for which it was used. AI may not replace the student's intellectual authorship, critical analysis and interpretation, or the consultation and validation of the sources used. The use of AI is not permitted in the written test or examinations unless expressly authorised by the teaching team.
Whenever deemed necessary to verify the extent to which the student has developed the knowledge and competences established for the course unit, the teaching team may require the student to undertake an oral examination, pursuant to Article 110(13) of the Academic Regulations of the University of Évora, with the conditions set out in Article 116(4) and Article 118(1) of the same Regulations being ensured. The oral examination shall focus on the assessment component for which confirmation of the knowledge and competences demonstrated by the student is considered necessary and shall carry, in the final grade for the course unit, the same weighting as that assessment component.
