Summary

In this project it is proposed the synthesis, characterization and studies of new organometallic/coordination complexes with different molecular structural features in order to achieve suitable ‘on’ and ‘off’ SONLO switched forms for optoelectronic and photonic applications. All the new compounds will be characterized by elemental analysis and usual chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques, X-ray diffraction structural determinations and electrochemical studies. The study of SONLO properties of the new compounds will be performed, at molecular level, by Hyper-Rayleigh Scattering (HRS) in solution and, at macroscopic level, by Kurtz technique in solid powder samples. The results will be complemented by DFT (Density Functional Theory) calculations.
