Teaching Methods
According to the objectives of the curricular unit, methodologies will be developed that prioritize student participation in classes through debate, reasoned criticism, and reflective intervention, simultaneously contributing to the consolidation of their knowledge and its mobilization. Assessment is integrated into the teaching and learning process through the completion of tasks of a diverse nature, with formative and summative functions.
We will thus emphasize forms of work focused on the critical analysis of texts with relevant didactic content. We will also seek to promote, in the classes themselves, the construction and didactic exploration of simple materials, linked to the topics covered and appropriate to the children's context.
Artificial Intelligence Use Policy
The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools is permitted to support learning, research, analysis, and organization of information, provided that the student critically validates the information and maintains human supervision and control over the content produced. The use of AI must be declared and referenced in accordance with the guidelines of the University of Évora and Decree No. 34/2026.
Permitted Use of AI
Students may use AI tools to:
? support research, exploration, and organization of information;
? linguistic and stylistic support;
? support analysis, question formulation, and brainstorming;
? support the structuring of ideas and content;
? create presentations or other resources from content previously produced and validated by the student.
Prohibited Use of AI
The use of AI tools is not permitted to:
? fully generate answers or assignments subject to evaluation;
? automatically solve exercises, problems, or assessment tasks;
? present AI-generated content as original student work;
? replace the analytical, interpretive, and reflective work required in assessment tasks;
? fabricate, alter, or invent sources, data, evidence, or results.
These uses may constitute academic fraud under Article 119 of the Academic Regulations of the University of Évora.
It is mandatory to declare the use of AI in any written work, audiovisual material, presentation, or other product subject to evaluation in this course. The declaration must identify the tool used and explain its purpose and how it was used. Whenever possible, the student should indicate the session identifier or provide the sharing link for the interaction.

Assessment
Assessment follows the rules in force at the University of Évora (Internal School Regulations) within the framework of the flexibility and autonomy granted to Departments, particularly with regard to the establishment of attendance rules. Accordingly, the attendance regime for the curricular unit implies the mandatory presence of students in at least 75% of the sessions, regardless of their nature.
Students with special attendance regimes (Article 33 of the RAUÉ) must contact the lecturer within thirty days of the start of the academic semester in order to be informed of the necessary adjustments to the assessment.
Continuous Assessment: consists of carrying out Tasks (T) of various kinds, individually and/or in groups, carried out throughout the semester and related to topics in the program. The final grade is obtained from the average of the graded tasks.
Final Grade = (T1+T2+?) /n
Final Assessment: consists of a Written Exam and an Individual Task presented and discussed in a group session.
Final Grade = Written Exam (70%) + Individual Assignment (30%).
Working students and those with equivalent status or who are beneficiaries of special regimes are not exempt from completing the Individual Assignment or its oral presentation in a group session, regardless of the assessment regime they choose.
Note: If deemed necessary to verify the extent to which the student has developed the knowledge and skills required for the course unit, the teaching staff may call the student for an oral examination, in accordance with § 13 of article 110 of the Academic Regulations of the University of Évora, ensuring the conditions set out in § 4 of article 116 and § 1 of article 118 of the same Regulations. The final grade results from the application of the following formula:
Final Grade = Written Exam (35%) + Oral Exam (35%) + Individual Assignment (30%).
