Course Overview

The Postgraduate Program in Education Inspection aims to provide advanced training for teachers and higher education technicians in coordination with the professional performance profile of education inspectors.
The course is oriented towards the following objectives: a) Qualify inspectors and other education professionals (pedagogical supervisors, teachers, principals, and other professionals involved in the quality control of educational institutions and educators) for the performance of inspection functions and other related activities related to the quality control of education; b) Contribute to an integrated vision of inspection functions in the areas of control, auditing, evaluation, monitoring, and oversight of the educational system's operation; c) Promote understanding of the institutional, procedural, and relational dimensions of inspection functions in different areas of intervention; d) Develop professionalizing attitudes, reconciling human, scientific, technical (pedagogical, disciplinary, administrative, and financial), and socio-cultural dimensions; e) Deepen understanding of the relationship between regulation and the dynamics of inspection action aimed at improving educational action.
The curriculum includes four mandatory modules from the Master's program in Education Sciences - Administration and Regulation of Educational Policies (MARPE) at the University of Évora and two optional modules that can be chosen from a predominantly MARPE curriculum, creating a training pathway with this master's program.
