Course Overview

This program provide advanced theoretical, methodological and contextual training and promote research through the integration of skills in
circular economy. It is intended, through collaboration with the business sector in the CE area, to contribute to solving companies' problems, basing teaching on PBL (Project Based Learning) activities, in an innovative and
integrated way, contributing to the optimization of value chains particular to the regions. The CE is aimed at providing students with
transversal, technical and scientific skills capable of promoting the circular economy in a widespread way in different sectors of the
economy, vital for the pursuit of sustainable development objectives. The proposing HEIs have as previously defined as objective the
promotion of circular economy, contributing for the environmental, economic and social sustainability of their activities and the
teaching they provide, with compliance with the SDGs of the 2030 agenda being a commitment of both HEIs.

Specific Entry Requirements

The following may apply for a 3rd cycle of studies leading to a PhD:
a) Holders of a master's degree or equivalent in the areas of environment, agricultural sciences, biological sciences, management and manufacturing industries or related fields. Exceptionally, other students with a master's degree or equivalent in different areas may be admitted, provided it is considered appropriate by the statutorily competent body.

b) Holders of a bachelor's degree with a particularly relevant academic or scientific curriculum that is recognized as demonstrating capacity to undertake this cycle of studies by the legally and statutorily competent scientific body of the higher education institution where they intend to be admitted;

c) Holders of an academic, scientific or professional curriculum that is recognized as demonstrating capacity to undertake this cycle of studies by the legally and statutorily competent scientific body. d) The recognition referred to in points a) and b) only grants access to the doctoral degree program and does not confer on its holder the equivalence to a bachelor's or master's degree, or its recognition.
