Develop individual creative skills within the student?s area of specialisation (AD).
Strengthen strategies for artistic promotion and communication in performance, as well as skills in managing performance anxiety in public presentation contexts.
Establish connections between technical and expressive elements, developing analytical and pedagogical competencies in instrumental/compositional teaching.
Critically analyse the repertoire of current programmes in vocational music education in Portugal (Lower and Upper Secondary levels), identifying their pedagogical potential.
Enhance technical and interpretative skills through the performance of representative works from the student's area of specialisation, applicable to Upper Secondary level (grades 6 to 8).
Master pedagogical strategies for teaching the musical parameters of texture and expressivity, tailored to diverse learning contexts and student profiles.

Contents

Study of instrumental/vocal repertoire, completion of compositional projects (Composition).
Mastery of techniques, materials, and repertoires from the 6th to 8th grade:
A) General
a. Acquisition of interpretative autonomy
b. Construction of a complete performance
B) Specific
a. WIND INSTRUMENTS: Tuning, phrasing, directionality
b. STRINGS: Tuning, double stops, full mastery of the instrument's range
c. PIANO: Timbral development/sonic planes; double notes; octaves, chords; leaps, polyphony
d. GUITAR: Technical development; full mastery of the guitar's range
e. PERCUSSION/DRUMS: Techniques for 4 mallets (traditional and Stevens), tremolos for timpani, multipercussion; high-level rhythmic independence and polyrhythm for all four limbs
f. VOICE: Methods for the study of lyrical singing in various languages
g. COMPOSITION: Advanced knowledge of all aspects of composition in different stylistic periods.

Teaching Methods

Initial definition of the individual work program and specific bibliography by the teacher, tailored to each student's specific needs.
Individual interactive lessons, similar to those described in AD1.
Supplementary activities (listening sessions, conferences).

Assessment

Assessment:
Continuous assessment (performance autonomously, in the classroom, and in supplementary activities) - 20%
Written work (and its presentation (approx. 10 min.),) on teaching materials and repertoires, programs, and issues adapted to the 6th to 8th-grade level of specialization in each student's area - 20%
Public examination before a jury:
Interpretation(interpretation students): Instrumental performance (approx. 40 min.), including concert repertoire (30%), chamber and teaching adapted to the 6th to 8th-grade level (30%)
Composition (composition students): Compositional project completed during the semester - 60%
