Learning Goals

Deepen the concepts and theoretical domains of Theater Education structured by practical experimentation in different educational contexts
Research and discuss relevant and innovative projects in the field of theater education
Analyze and reflect on the curricular guidelines and programs for theatre/dramatic expression in the Portuguese education system.

Understand and discuss the role played by the educator/teacher as a facilitator and mediator of theatrical actions

Be able to plan, implement and evaluate dramatic activities and experiences in various educational contexts

Teaching Methods

The seminar is presented as an opportunity to deepen and reflect on the theoretical and practical fields of theater education practices and to train future educators/teachers to use them in contemporary educational settings. The organization of the seminar should articulate the investigative dimension and the practical exploration/experimentation of planning, space organization, group and materials of dramatic activity in different scenarios and problems.
It provides for theoretical and practical work, where the reflective and questioning dimension prevails.

Assessment

According to the University of Évora's assessment regulations, continuous assessment and final assessment by exam are provided for.
The continuous assessment of the seminar should therefore consist of:
- Participation in collaborative group research - 30%
- Conception, planning and discussion of a proposal for implementing dramatic action in an educational context - 30%.
- Carrying out a reasoned critical reflection on a theatrical approach/technique/project in an educational intervention context - 40%
