Know the existing educational policies in each territory and national and international institutions, that promote and materialize;
Know the policy management instruments in each territory;
Assess the educational dimension of these institutions in the territories and the respective contribution in the genesis and implementation of educational policies;
Analyze the relationship between existing qualification systems in each territory and the presence and the role of formal and non-formal learning;
Assesses, in a territorial dimension, the relationship between education policies and local development in their human, social and economic dimensions;
Develop and promote proposals for educational policies of territorial scope, considering the characteristics, needs and capacities of people and institutions;
Develop and promote proposals of framework policy educational institutional,
considering their needs and characteristics.

Contents

• The concepts of education policy;
• The international institutions with responsibilities in the design and promotion of educational policies (OECD / UNESCO / World Bank / European Commission / NGO...);
• National institutions with responsibilities in the design and promotion of educational policies (Ministry of Education and Science / IEFP / ANQEP / NGO / ...);
• Operating locally institutions with responsibility in the design and promotion of educational policies (Local authorities / NGOs / ...);
• The instruments policy management present in each territory (school programs / education programs and adult education /vocational training programs / educational charters/social charters/XXI agendas / XXI Agendas / ...)
• The concept of educating city and its movement at national and international level;
• The formal, non-formal and informal learning;
• The educational institutions and non-school institutions with educational potential.

Teaching Methods

Methodology
It will favor an approach that combines more classic moments of presenting information
with concrete examples of analysis times of territories and provides good case-studies,thus complements and illustrates the more theoretical information.
The methodology to adopt will also be determined by the profile of the students of each edition of the course, in appreciating the respective personal and professional paths and their geographic origin.
Continuous Assessment
Individual text written on a topic of the course (85%).
Attendance and participation in teaching activities of the course (15%).

Assessment Examination Regime
Students who opt for the examination scheme provided for in the School Rules of the University of Évora, must demonstrate the skills and knowledge acquired in this course, by carrying out a written assessment (100%).
