Teaching Methods
The teaching methodologies aim to promote student learning by engaging them in the process, enabling them to develop the competencies outlined while fostering self-regulation of their learning. The activities carried out in the classroom, as well as those undertaken through independent work, are integral to the processes of teaching, assessment, and learning, encouraging active student participation and placing them at the center of the learning process. The involvement of specialists in emerging topics is foreseen, to deepen and enrich the training and its respective particularities. The tasks to be developed engage students in communication processes and collaborative work, such as research, project development (aligned with the Project-Based Learning (PBL) approach), document analysis, and reflection, to be carried out individually and in groups. These activities are in coherence with the guidelines for teaching set forth by the current legislation that governs the organization and functioning of schools in Portugal.
Assessment
The evaluation process follows the regulations established at the University of Évora, which includes both a continuous assessment regime and a final assessment regime.
Continuous Assessment Regime: The assessment is integrated into teaching and learning, playing a regulatory role. It takes place throughout the semester, continuously, through the completion of various tasks, both individual and group-based. The final grade will be determined by the completion of three tasks (T), which involve analysis and critical reflection on documents related to the topics covered. The oral presentation associated with the tasks (AO) and student participation (P) will also be taken into account. The final grade (CF) is calculated as follows: CF= 60% T + 30% (AO) + 10% (P)
Final Assessment Regime:
Students who choose this regime will complete a written exam (PE) and an oral presentation (AO), similar to the work developed under the continuous assessment regime. The final grade for the course unit (UC) will be determined using the following formula: CF = 80% PE + 20% (AO)
