Learning Goals

This U.C. subdivided into several blocks / modalities to deepen the knowledge through
practical experience of different sports activities and expressive.
objectives:
1. Knowing the history of the different sports and expressive activities;
2. Know the rules of the different sports and expressive activities;
3. Know the regional, national and international levels of the different sports;
4. Know the terminology and symbolism of each sports activities;
5. Know the pedagogical progressions approach to the technical and tactical gestures of the different sports;
6. Mastering the basic methodology of teaching modalities and respective learning progressions.

Contents

The Department Assembly will annually establish the sports and expressive activities that constitute the modules of the course unit, based on the following options:
- Volleyball
- Handball
- Rugby
- Soccer
- Futsal
- Basketball
- Athletics
- Judo
- Gymnastics
- Aquatic Activities
- Fitness and Well-being I
- Horseback Riding
- Dance
- Racket Sports
- Others

The specific program contents for each sport/expressive activity will be presented by the responsible instructor in the program of each module. These specific programs will be governed by this general program of the course unit.

Teaching Methods

The course I will be organized in theoretical-practical teaching sessions, with a total of 90 contact hours. Through experiencing practical situations and subsequent analysis and reflection, the goal is for students to acquire skills that enable them to understand the fundamentals of a teaching/training process in different modalities/activities.

Assessment

The assessment of this course will be distributed across its different modules, with the final grade being the average of all module grades. Students who fail this course due to failing in some of the modules will be exempted from attending classes and assessment in subsequent academic years. The course coordinator will retain the grades obtained in these modules for a maximum period of 2 academic years.

Continuous Assessment
Practical Component - Assessed during the academic term (continuous and/or with assessment moments). It cannot be reassessed in the final evaluation period according to the , article 111º, n.º 5 of the “Regulamento Académico da Universidade de Évora (RAUE)”.
Theoretical Component - Assessed during the academic term and/or the exam period. It can be reassessed in the final evaluation period if the practical component has been completed.

The final evaluation process should be consulted in the specific program of each taught module.
