Sustainable Development Goals

Learning Goals

The intention is for students to understand/perceive:
1.The fundamental components of the motor development process, following an interdisciplinary approach to human development.
2.Motor development as a dynamic and ecological process.
3.Changes throughout life in motor skills, perceptual-motor abilities, physical capacities, and organic systems.
4.The variability of the developmental process, as well as the main intrinsic and extrinsic influences.

The objectives also include the following skills and competencies:
5.To plan and implement (in various contexts) motor skills development programs, tailored to the participants' characteristics.
6.The ability to analyze factors and developmental contexts and propose changes that enhance play and motor practices.
7.The use of various motor assessment techniques, with a perspective of characterization and intervention in the domain of motor behavior.

Teaching Methods

Student-centred teaching model, with active strategies in pedagogical practices, making implicit the relationship between the curriculum and its applicability to real problems. The following strategies stand out:
-design of application and comprehension exercises, case studies, debates, watching video documentaries
-articulation between speaking moments and audiovisual resources that facilitate comprehension, attention and involve active student participation
-use of interactive digital resources, including the Moodle platform and collaborative software (e.g., google sheets and Padlet)
-collaborative approach based on team-based learning to analyse/discuss various significant cases/problems
-articulation between teaching and research, publicizing R&D projects and encouraging student participation in them
-situated learning by carrying out application work with children in the community

Assessment

Evaluation (continuous assessment or final exam)

>70% test (continuous assessment) or exam (regular /appeal)
>30% application work

-Tests or exams cover the taught contents.
-Application work regarding the assessment of motor competence in children. It has its own guiding document.

The application work is carried out in groups (maximum 4 students).

The minimum grade is 9.5 points for both tests/exams and the application work.
