Learning Goals

1. Know the objectives and content of the essential learnings of the PE curriculum in primary and secondary education regarding the subjects: Team Sports - Handball, Basketball, Football, Rugby, and Volleyball.
2. Deepen / Improve / Consolidate the regulations, tactical, technical and/or artistic aspects of these subjects
3. Develop skills in planning, intervention, and assessment of the teaching-learning process of these Physical Activities.
4. Be able to structure tasks and learning activities in a differentiated and progressive manner, adapting them to the various levels of students' psychomotor performance.
5. Reflect on the challenges of teaching these subjects in an educational context.

Contents

I. Essential learnings of the PE curriculum in primary and secondary education Framework for Collective Sports Games
1.Course Organization (1st cycle to Secondary)
2.Specification levels of each subject characterization
3.Horizontal and vertical articulation of contents

II. Collective Sports Games (Handball, Basketball, Football, Rugby, Volleyball)
1.History and regulatory framework of the sport
2.Characterization of technical and tactical actions
3.Content identification organized by specification levels
4.Evaluation criteria - from individual indicators to collective performance
5. Teaching methodologies and pedagogical progressions

III. Methodological Evolution of the Teaching Process

Teaching Methods

The classes will be theoretical-practical and will include bodily experience of specific practical activities, analysis of pedagogical progressions, pedagogical practice in simulated teaching situations, observation of real teaching scenarios, and reflection on practice.
Problem-solving, research, and the practical presentation of task proposals will be emphasized to promote active student participation in learning situations. It is important to note that, based on the training needs identified by students, efforts will be made to adapt the topics/content and timing accordingly.
The Moodle platform will be used to support learning and as a formative assessment tool.

Assessment

Continuous assessment is the recommended system and will include two components:
AC1: Written assessment test (30%)
AC2: Assignments with a theoretical-practical focus (70%) (e.g., observation reports and motor skills assessments, self-assessment reports on lesson planning and delivery in some topics, observation reports of real teaching situations, and other tasks to be agreed upon with students).

The final assessment system consists of two components:
AF1: Written assessment test (50%)
AF2: Oral presentation and discussion of a project (50%) on a topic to be defined.
To successfully complete the course unit, students must obtain a minimum score of 10 in each component.
