Presentation

Study of the Global Health and Health concepts and the strategic importance of their convergence and integration; and the determinants of health, in particular how they contributed to the progressive “creation” of Global Health.

Learning Goals

To present the concepts of One Health (US) and Global Health (SG), the relationships that exist between them, how they are influenced by the Determinants of Health, their framing in the goals of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and emphasize their importance in biomedical education and health promotion. At the end students must:
Know the concepts of US and SG, how they relate to each other, and how they can contribute to achieving the goals established in the SDGs.
Assess SG and US-level issues.
Select work methodologies best suited to target populations.
Design proposals for action in specific cases of communicable diseases and in the food chain, and evaluate the consequences of the implemented measures.
Propose prevention, control/eradication and mitigation measures for emerging situations.
Know the surveillance systems and health programs and organizations and structures in the global context.

2. A HEALTH
- Historical perspective and concept
- Development of the One Health paradigm
- The animal - man - environment interface: zoonoses and communicable diseases
- Operationalization and implementation of One Health activities
3. CONVERGENCE A GLOBAL HEALTH-HEALTH
- Sustainable Development Goals and Health
4. APPROACHES TO GLOBAL HEALTH AND HEALTH AND BIOMEDICAL TEACHING
- Resource sharing and biomedical education
- Information flow in clinical practice and global health
- Development of partnerships to increase impacts and benefits in the health sector
- Communication and information of the populations.

Teaching Methods

Classes will be theoretical and theoretical-practical with debate, in which the basic concepts to be taught will be transmitted with audiovisual support. Problems and information will be interpreted taking into account the knowledge learned in and tutorial guidance will be provided for the presentation of group work.
On the other hand, collaborative work will be promoted, in small groups, on the characterization of situations in the scope of Global Health and One Health, which should result in evaluation elements: a written document and its oral discussion.
