The aim of the curricular unit is to develop knowledge that promote potentially innovative design solutions, from analysis and understanding of work processes that relate technological, social, organizational and environmental factors. Provide students with capabilities to create a innovative design product or servisse solution.

- Identify and understand the main principles of successful innovation in design;
- Understand the relationship between the different stages of the innovation process by Design;

Teaching Methods
The classes will be based on the exposure and critical analysis of theoretical and practical content by use of: literature and physical and audiovisual media; exploration of collaborative working methods; the debate on cross-cutting issues to the learning process.
Assessment
In the REGULAR SESSION period, students can choose between two assessment methods: Continuous Assessment or Final Assessment.
1. CONTINUOUS ASSESSMENT METHOD
Assessment components:
Class participation: 20%;
Work developed during time with teacher supervision, which must be submitted to at least one periodic assessment with public disclosure of grades: 40%;
Presentation and defense of the work developed during class, which takes place during the "Regular Session Assessments" period: 40%.
2. FINAL ASSESSMENT METHOD
Work developed during time with teacher supervision: 40%;
Taking an exam based on the content taught: 60%.
