Teaching Methods

a) Exposure (to introduce the themes and issues to discuss);
b) Hermeneutics of texts;
c) Discussion and argumentation.
Given the specific formative purposes of the Course, this Curricular Unit has 15 hours of field work (identified as
hours TC), in which we will develop the teaching activities identified in the Academic Regulation (artº 86º -8) as
sessions dedicated to learning and application of knowledge. Because we understand field work in broad
meaning, we include in it both the hermeneutical practices of texts that we register as a method b) and possible
workshops in close collaboration with cultural institutions that are partners of the University of Évora for the
achievement of this degree.

Assessment

The assessment of students' performance will be based on their choice of one of two systems provided for in Article 110(4) of the Academic Regulations ? see Annex to Order No. 53/2022 of 1 April.

The respective rules are as follows:

E. 1 ? Continuous Assessment System
Each student who opts for this assessment system will take two written tests. The corresponding results (R1 and R2), which in no case may be lower than 8 points, will be added to a third (R3), which will reflect the student's level of participation in class. The minimum compulsory attendance is 75% of the face-to-face sessions. The final grade will be the arithmetic mean of these three results:
(R1 + R2 + R3) : 3.
Any result lower than 8 (eight) points in the written tests and a final grade lower than 10 (ten) points will prevent the student from passing this assessment system. Failure to attend one of the continuous assessment tests automatically results in the student being placed on the examination system, and attendance at all of them prevents the student from sitting the examination in the normal period ? cf. Academic Regulations, Article 110(11)(a) and (b).

E. 2 ? Examination System
The examination, in any of its periods, will consist of a written test (PE) to be taken over three hours and, when the result of this is between 8 and 10 points, an oral test (PO). In this case, the final mark (NF) will be calculated by
applying the following formula: NF = (PE+PO) : 2.

E. 3 - Use of AI
The use of any AI platform or tool is not permitted in assessment tests. In line with the principles of academic integrity in force at the University of Évora, verification of the use of any form of AI will result in the cancellation of the corresponding test(s) for the offender(s).
