Upon completion of the course, students are expected to be able to:
- Master up-to-date knowledge on the normal and pathological development of preterm newborns, as well as the main clinical and surgical conditions affecting this population.

- Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals, promoting multidisciplinary teamwork and the integration of knowledge for continuous improvement in the quality of care.
- Reflect critically on the ethical and legal challenges associated with neonatal care, focusing on decision-making in complex situations and defending the rights of children and families.

Prematurity, specific care for preterm newborns, and family support.
Golden Hour - Resuscitation and stabilization of preterm newborns: algorithms and protocols.
Fundamentals of neonatal neurodevelopment. Neonatal intensive care: main challenges and care strategies. Development-Centered Care.
Interaction with parents: Importance of bonding, the role of parents in care, and the role of the multidisciplinary team.

Teaching Methods
The course takes place be-learning. The methodology includes theoretical exposition, analysis and discussion of real clinical cases, group sharing, simulation of clinical situations and critical reflection on professional experiences.

Assessment
Assessment will take place using observation during simulated practices and a multiple choice quiz with 10 questions (min. 70% correct).
