Teaching Methods

In the teaching sessions of this curricular unit, the proposal is to prioritize teaching and learning methods with a strong focus on participation and critical reflection on the issues being developed, with the aim of equipping students with the knowledge and tools, as well as scientific and behavioral skills, necessary for performance in any profession.

Use of the following teaching and learning methodologies:
• Expository.
• Participative (discussion of scientific articles/case studies; web content research; use of computer platforms and simulators).
• Active (Group Work).
• Self-study, asynchronous distance learning (recommended readings, video viewing, exercise solving).
In this course, it is also intended to organize seminars/lectures by inviting professionals representing companies and institutions, so that students can engage with the organizational reality that cannot be fully analyzed in the classroom.

Assessment

In accordance with the provisions of the Academic Regulations of the University of Évora (RAUE) and in compliance with the current rules in the Department of Management, students will be given the option, for assessment purposes, to choose between the Continuous Assessment (CA) or the Final Assessment (Exam) scheme.

The Continuous Assessment (CA) scheme for this curricular unit will consist of two individual written assessment tests, one for each module (50%); a group assignment with discussion and oral presentation (30%); and in-class activities (20%).

The Final Assessment (Exam) scheme will consist of an individual written assessment test (50%), and an individual written research assignment that should incorporate topics from modules 1 and 2 (50%).
