Learning Goals

Objectives: Based on the knowledge of semiotic exploration and etiopathological and pathophysiological interpretative bases, already acquired in Medical Semiology I, students continue to acquire semiotic knowledge related to other organic systems, with a progressive acquisition of medical terminology, aiming at the diagnosis and allowing the formulation of appropriate therapeutic indications and the establishment of a prognosis with the best degree of predictability.
Competences: At the end, in face of a clinical case, through the application of semiotic exploration (Semiotechnics) students should demonstrate the ability to collect symptomatological information, both clinical and from complementary exams, from different systems, and interpret it according to etiopathogenic and pathophysiological criteria (Propaedeutics) to produce a diagnosis, allowing the most appropriate therapeutic indications and the formulation of a prognosis.

Laboratory tests: The protocols are carried out by small groups of students, and results are discussed thereafter. Tutorials: Includes complementary support to students, individually or in small groups, for study issues clarification.
Evaluation: Theoretical: Assessment of frequency or final examination (60% of final mark). Practice: Physical examination (20% final mark) and laboratory examination (20% final mark).
