- To know the main research paradigms;
- Develop basic consumer research skills:
- Criteria for analysis of research articles
- Integrative and systematic review
- Rules for the use of information sources
- Develop basic research skills
- Knowing structuring elements and the different phases of the research process
- Develop a pre-project research
- Ethics in research
Competences:
Theoretical knowledge
- Demonstrates to know:
- the process of knowledge construction and translation
- the structuring elements and the different stages of the research process
- the ethical principles underlying research
- criteria for the analysis of research articles

Teaching Methods
Student has a co-responsibility role for their own learning, and are expected to actively participate in class.
Expositive classes are planned, in order to explain the more abstract content, and theoretical and practical lessons for learning, training and examples for the application of the materials. For practice classes, the group will be divided in small groups. This is required for a better interaction between professor-student, for example in the research database, references management exercises, research plans. The OT is used for individual tutoring or in small groups as situation.

Assessment
The assessment of the Curricular Unit is continuous and follows the weighting criteria: a draft of a research pre-project (group work), accounting for 40% of the final grade, and responses to questions carried out on Moodle during the Theoretical-Practical classes (individual assessment), accounting for 60%. Questions will be administered in four TP sessions (each assessment moment will represent 25% of the final theoretical grade), and will refer to the content covered in the previous theoretical classes. To achieve a positive evaluation in the Curricular Unit, students must obtain a grade higher than 9.5 (out of 20) in each component (group work and individual assessment).
The final assessment: a written exam lasting 90 minutes, according to the school calendar for the different evaluation periods.
