Course Overview

This cycle of studies translates into a 2nd cycle course (master's degree) in an area of ??strategic interest and one of the most consolidated at the University of Évora. It is based on an experienced teaching staff (from the Departments of Rural Engineering and Plant Science), highly qualified and with teaching experience in tropical countries. It complements agronomic and related training in the 1st Cycle (degree), introducing, through 12 compulsory and 1 optional course units, subjects more related to Engineering applied to Agricultural Sciences, such as Agricultural Hydraulics and Rural Constructions, and deepening more agronomic subjects in the areas of horticulture, plant health and biotechnology. Future masters will be better prepared to understand the technological and environmental problems that face the sustainability and modernization of Agriculture, being able to study, design, promote and direct the implementation of systems and activities that constitute the best solutions for a successful agricultural activity. The course aims to contribute to the training of highly qualified staff in São Tomé and Príncipe, so that this country can move towards greater food self-sufficiency in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals.

Specific Entry Requirements

Bachelor or 1st cycle degree in the field of Agrarian Sciences is required. Candidates holding a degree in related areas may also be accepted, after curriculum analysis.
