Learning Goals
The emergence of nonstate actors (nongovernmental organizations, companies, religious groups), substate entities (regions, federated states), and suprastate organizations in international politics is a compelling factor that urges us to rethink foreign policy as public policy. The fading boundaries between domestic and international dimensions, as well as between public and private strategies, have a deep impact on the analysis. The theorization and practice of new kinds of policy networks are likely to be at the heart of future research agendas, both in international relations and public policy studies (Charillon, 2017).
Thus, this curricular unit aims to contribute to an in-depth knowledge of the theoretical and analytical approaches of public policies and their application to international relations. Ensuring skills, instruments and models of analysis to better understand the role of public policies in international relations.

Teaching Methods
The teaching model and the evaluation regime of this unit are organized in a way to ensure a solid articulation between its theoretical and applied components. In addition to the theoretical-practical classes, the practical work developed by the students, along the continuous evaluation regime, has as its objective the study of a public policy, or of a specific instrument or domain of action of public policy, analyzing their level of exposure, integration and or articulation resulting from international relations.
The evaluation regime of this curricular unit is as follows: a) Continuous assessment: A written test with a weight of 40% and a practical work with a weight of 60% in the final grade of the course unit. The continuous assessment regime is organized in such a way that classroom and online classroom attendance is assured to the students; b) In Examination Regime: A written exam (Exam) with a weight of 100% in the final grade of the course unit.
