Compreensão na leitura: newspapers and magazines (online and paper versions) (II)
Interacção oral: informal discussion on a topic selected at the moment
Interacção escrita: exchanging correspondence by letter (e.g. complaint, expressing thoughts and feelings Letter to the Editor, Dear Abby, etc.) (II)
Grammar: this, my, some, a lot of, etc.; pronouns; adjectives and adverbs; prepositions; verbs with prepositions and adverbs; reported speech; relative clauses; conditionals and wish; linking words.

Métodos de Ensino
(1) Avaliação contínua:
a. Frequência escrita (35%); b. Frequência oral (25%); c. Trabalhos, ao longo do semestre (40%);
(2) Avaliação por exame: a. Exame escrito (60%); b. Exame oral (40%).
Avaliação
According to the Regulamento Escolar Interno da Universidade de Évora and the Regulamento de Avaliação de Conhecimentos as proposed by the Departamento de Linguística e Literaturas, students may choose between two modes of assessment: (1) continuous or (2) exam.
(1) Continuous assessment:
Students under continuous assessment will be graded in the following cases:
- Written test (May, 2015): 35%
2. Oral production (throughout the semester): 25%
3. Assignments (throughout the semester, in and at home): 40%
In-class and home assignmentswill cover oral production, written production, listening comprehension, spoken interaction and written interaction.
Notes:
- Students are required to achieve grade 8,0 in the written test and oral production
- Students are required to attend 80% of classes.
- Students under ‘regimes especiais’ (REI) are exempted from the above mentioned percentage.
(2) Exam (normal):
Students who choose to sit a final exam will be assessed as follows:
* written exam (June, 2015): 60%
* oral exam (June, 2015): 40%
Notes:
- Students are required to achieve grade 8,0 in the written and oral exam.
- Students are required to attend 50% of classes.
- Students under ‘regimes especiais’ (REI) are exempted from the above mentioned percentage.
- Exam (recurso): If the student fails/is not assessed under the continuous assessment or/and exam modes of evaluation, he/she may take the ‘recurso’ exam being assessed as follows:
* written exam (June, 2015): 60%
* oral exam (June, 2015): 40%
Note: Students are required to achieve grade 8,0 in both written and oral exams (normal, recurso and especial).
IMPORTANT: The grades are only rounded off when registered in the ‘pauta’.
