Course Overview
The aim of this course is to provide insights that will enable nurses and doctors to develop decision-making skills when caring for people with complex wounds across various healthcare settings. This course also aims to develop skills for assessing the psychosocial and behavioural aspects of the person with a wound and promoting their quality of life, with particular attention to the ability to develop an individualised care plan that takes into account the patient?s comorbidities and unique circumstances. The postgraduate course is run in collaboration with the Portuguese Wound Society ELCOS. The course is externally accredited by the European Wound Management Association (EWMA).

Career Prospects
Completion of the Postgraduate Course provides advanced skills for working in hospitals ? whether public, private or in the social sector ? in primary healthcare units, in units and teams within the National Network for Integrated Continuing Care, as well as in other healthcare facilities and services involved in the provision of care for people with complex wounds.
Specific Entry Requirements
The following are eligible to apply for the postgraduate programme:
? Holders of a bachelor?s degree or equivalent qualification in Nursing or Medicine;
? Holders of a foreign higher education qualification recognised as meeting the requirements of a bachelor?s degree by the relevant body of the higher education institution to which they wish to apply;
? Holders of a degree and professional qualification in the field of Nursing or Medicine.
