Presentation

This unit intends to understand and discuss the differences between philosophy and literature, considering in particular the role of writing in Plato, namely in Phaedrus and, in the contemporary period, existentialism, in its different configurations.

1) Understand and problematize differences between philosophy and literature
2) Understand and problematize the role of writing in Plato’s Phaedrus
3) Define existentialism on its several configurations
4) Analyse and comment a novel of ideas

Lectures, text analysis and discussion, debates.
