The Entrepreneurship course aims to give students the materials needed to develop an entrepreneurial spirit, creativity and innovation, which are summarized below:
. entrepreneurial spirit and ability to identify and understand the importance of innovation;
. ability to link the essential elements of entrepreneurship and innovation;
. ability to understand the entrepreneurial process and the various models and dynamics of innovation;
. create interest in firm creation.
The unit develops the following skills / knowledge: i) understand the concepts and approaches to entrepreneurship and innovation, (ii) understanding the relationship between theory and practical examples, (iii) knowledge of the main models of innovation, (iv) acquisition of knowledge creation of new businesses and intra-entrepreneurship.

Teaching Methods
The classes are theoretical-practical in order to combine the concepts as much as possible with their application to concrete cases (found, for example, in various international magazines and newspapers). Different teaching tools are used throughout the course. In addition to face-to-face classes, open-access material is used in the form of video presentations, promoting the sharing of knowledge. Students are also encouraged to do various small assignments throughout the course. The University of Évora's e-learning platform is also used to disseminate the material used in classes.
Assessment
- An individual written test (PE) covering the entire syllabus of the course, with a weight of 70% in the final grade.
- Group work (3/4 elements) on the structuring of a business idea (TG), with a weight of 30% in the final grade; this involves delivering a report, according to a specific model, to present and detail the idea.
Assessment formula: 0.7*PE+0.3*TG
Assessment by exam:
- An individual written test (PE) covering the entire syllabus of the course, with a weighting of 65% in the final grade.
- An individual assignment on the structuring of a business idea (TI), with a weight of 35% in the final grade; it involves the delivery of a report, according to a specific model, to present and detail the idea.
Assessment formula: 0.65*PE+0.35*TI
Passing any of the assessment schemes requires a minimum mark of 7 (seven) in all the assessment elements.
