Students should apprehend the basic methodology of the analysis of investment, focusing on an economic or social perspective. Then, students should acquire knowledge necessary for correct decisions in what concerns investment projects. The course also intends to provide the methodology of the European Union concerning the cost-benefit analysis, which will be of practical relevance for students after graduation.
In terms of professional skills, the course provides the capacity to analyse the economic activity resulting from investment projects in their spatial, local, regional, national and international dimensions, as well as allows the knowledge of the methods of analysis of investment projects in their private and public dimensions. In terms of general skills, the course provides decision-making capacity in a world of innovation. In terms of specific skills, the course allows the understanding of the functioning of economic activity and its social and spatial frameworks.

Teaching Methods
The teaching-learning process focuses on providing the necessary theory on decision analysis for the several economic applications (real of simulated projects).
The assessments are: an economic analysis of an investment project and a single written exam.
