Course Overview

Doctoral Program in Food Sciences is a program in association between the Faculty of Science and Technology of NOVA and the University of Évora. It is in line with the growing relevance of the food sector, coupled with the challenges of climate change and the future prospects of sustainable global food needs. It is therefore necessary to develop knowledge and skills to enable professionals to anticipate global challenges in the food sector upstream and downstream and to improve the performance and competitiveness of their products through innovative, intelligent processes and promoters of sustainable development.  The learning objectives are:  (a) the development of critical thinking and advanced training to acquire a high level of competence in food sciences which enables them to critically cross-conceptualize concepts between disciplines;  b) The acquisition of advanced knowledge in Food Sciences, as well as associated technologies, and the development of research topics within the participating institutions.  c) Develop knowledge and create skills that enable professionals to anticipate global challenges in the food sector and improve the performance and competitiveness of their products through innovative, intelligent processes and promoters of sustainable development

Specific Entry Requirements

Conditions of access to the cycle of studies leading to the degree of Doctor They can apply for the cycle of studies leading to the doctor's degree: · Masters degree holders or legal equivalent; · Holders of a bachelor's degree with a particularly relevant academic or scientific curriculum that is recognized as attesting to the capacity to carry out this cycle of studies by the competent scientific body of the university (s) in which they wish to be admitted; · Holders of a school, scientific or professional curriculum that is recognized as attesting the ability to carry out this cycle of studies by the competent scientific body of the university (s) in which they wish to be admitted.
