In this course unit doctoral degree candidates join and participate in an ongoing research project in Sociology carried on in one of the 6 OU of the consortium, for one semester. The main aim is that they should take part in research activities and academic discussion in order to develop and practice their research skills.
Contents
Activities and tasks defined on a case by case basis, take into account the student's research interests and the characteristics and stage of the Research Project which he integrates:
-attendance of the research team's seminars, meetings;
- Hands-on practice of research, data collection and processing, and/or contributions to the theoretical and methodological framework of the project (e.g. construction of a framework; write up an semi-structured interview guide; pre-test of a survey questionnaire; exploratory interviews of a qualitative research project; analysis of quantitative data);
-Taking part in scientific conferences/seminars

Teaching Methods
This course proposes to hold small seminars around problems and components of a process of sociological research. The evaluation process focuses on the active participation of students in the various seminars and more particularly in the development of a research project and presentation of their project report.
